Clear Estimates provides preliminary estimates to homeowners, powered by real cost data. We turn these estimates into high value project leads for pros like you. Every lead comes with a full scope of work, not just a name and number.
Imagine a homeowner who has already seen an estimate based on actual project costs, already knows what to expect, and is ready to move ahead.
Clear Estimates offers these pre-screened job leads for purchase, and they can be imported directly into your Clear Estimates account.
These leads aren't purchased “as-is”. They're leads where the client has already seen an initial estimate based on real numbers. You'll be able to review and make adjustments before giving the homeowner a final quote.

How Leads Work
You'll receive job leads from Clear Estimates via email.
You don't need to be subscribed to Clear Estimates to get emails about job leads. You can buy leads outright and pay as you go.
Or, leads are available at a 50% discount for active Clear Estimates customers.
For contractors:

Job Details Page
Each lead email contains a link to a job details page. This page gives you everything you need to decide if the job is a good fit before you make a purchase.
You'll see the job type & total amount of the job before you make a purchase - this way you're only buying the leads you want:
- Total of the estimate
- Date the lead was created
- $ amount of markup included
- Overall project description
- Summary of the estimate
- Any additional info provided by the homeowner
Note
The estimate you see here is not the final price or scope. These are initial estimates provided to the homeowner via CEPIA, and are subject to change based on your assessment of the job, the client's needs or any other factors.
Purchasing Leads
When you buy the lead you'll receive the client's contact info, along with the full details of the job. You'll be able to reach out to the client directly to discuss the job or set a consultation.
At the bottom of the job details page you'll see an option for a one-time lead purchase, plus the price for the lead:
Each job lead can be purchased by up to 3 contractors.
Once you click buy this lead, you'll choose if you want to import the job into Clear Estimates, or buy the lead as a one-time purchase.
Each lead you purchase includes:
- Homeowner contact info
- Project details
- Location
- Full scope of work, including all line item details (importable into Clear Estimates).
- Projected project cost based on local cost data
Option 1: Import via Your Clear Estimates Account (Recommended)
You can sign up for Clear Estimates, or log into your account to receive your leads at a discount. Plus, you'll be able to edit the estimate right in your account.
1. Click Import into My Account.
You’ll be prompted to log in to your Clear Estimates account.
For new customers
You'll see an instruction for signing up for a new account. Follow these instructions verbatim.
Once you create your account and log in, come back to the same screen and click Start Importing Job Details.
Next you’ll see a confirmation page showing the price of the lead and job summary.
2. Click Purchase to complete the purchase and start the import.
You'll see a lead purchase successful screen while the job imports.
3. After it loads, you'll be taken to your projects page where you'll see the full line item details of your estimate, along with the customer contact info and suggested markup.
Here you'll be able to review, edit and resubmit the estimate.
You'll also be able to pay for your lead through your Clear Estimates invoice.
Option 2: One-Time Lead Purchase (No Account Required)
If you're not subscribed to Clear Estimates, you'll be able to purchase the lead outright.
1. Click One-Time Lead Purchase.
You'll be taken to a checkout page to complete the one-time purchase.
2. Fill out your details and click Pay.
3. Once purchased, you'll receive a confirmation email ("New Lead Purchased") with the full estimate details, contact info and property location:
At the bottom of the email will be a .csv file of the full estimate with labor, materials and markup, which you can download:
Next Steps
Now that you've bought your lead, you'll be able to contact the homeowner to set up a consultation. Be sure to reach out to the homeowner quickly to get the most out of your leads.
Set up a consultation so you can assess the client's project and get more detail. Remember, these are preliminary estimates, and the final cost is determined by you, once you've had a chance to assess the project.
Lastly, you can make any edits or revisions to the estimate, and send your client back a formal quote. (This process is much easier with an active Clear Estimates account!)
